The summer heat has arrived with a bang! The temperature is rising and the cool spring days have gone. The holiday season is here and the gardeners are keen to get the sprinklers on and new plants in the beds. Time to enjoy the weather and the lazy summer days just gazing into the garden.
Here’s what’s blooming in Christine’s garden in December 2012

My best time of the day is the early evening when I can water the plants and see what is thriving. The days are getting really hot and this means most of my greens have bolted. The blooms are now going to seed but I still have a few glorious flowers that I can show you this Bloom Day.

I enjoyed my tour through the tangle of flowers and vegetables in your gardens. Absolutely beautiful!
Oh Chris -I love the masses of flowers and foliage in your garden 🙂
The Black Beauty already in bloom!?! That’s amazing! Just managed to get mine into the veggie patch.
I love the mix of flowers in the first photo – love all the colours! 🙂
I love visiting your blog in December to see the opposite season—gorgeous flowers.
It’s so nice to see flowers in bloom outside. Makes me feel warm. For us in upstate NY, it is going to be a long 3 months before spring. Happy GBBD!
Wow! What fabulous photos. So many blooms. A real treat as I look out on our brown and frigid landscape. Very few blooms indoors,.
All the pics are lovely, I love the blooms in Christine’s and all the edibles in Barbara’s I also have tomato blooms. I saw Torenia recently and almost bought it but the guy at the nursery says it doesn’t last long so I passed. Now seeing Christine’s makes me regret it!
I am so going to enjoy your summer while its winter in my garden. The abundance of late spring early summer is incredible. Lots oflovely colour and sunshine shining out of every picture. Christina
Summer at your place? We’re looking toward winter here, but still with Blooms for Bloom day. Your flowers are beautiful.
I am so thankful you have summer so I can dream in pictures of the gorgeous flowers and veggies. That Aquilegia Christine and those gaura in the buckets Barbie. I hope to make Christmas porch containers in buckets like these next year. How odd though I would find it to have Christmas in summer. But I would love to find out…someday I hope to visit S Africa.
It’s grey, dreary, damp, and cold here today, but I can’t help but smile to see so many cheery blooms! I love the Gaura in the buckets, how fun!
Christine, I love that mass of petunias. I like the flower, but not the fragrance. They look great in any garden. Babara, my favorite was the gaura and fennel. I love the delicate look.
Looking great both of you — I don’t have spring fever yet, but I will if I keep seeing photos like these!
