What’s not to love about these lovely salmon pink Asiatic Lilies? They are easy to grow, thriving in a shaded position, putting on a splendid show now that the Azaleas having finished flowering. According to the books, Asiatic lilies are among the easiest to grow. They’re very hardy, need no staking, and are not particularly fussy about soil, as long as it drains well (although they do better if you add a good mulch and plant them in compost enriched soil).

Wow Wow Wow… Stunning flowers…
Exactly, as you say what’s not to like and you have pictured them perfectly. I am keen to search your site for a picture of your garden and add it to my (Your gardens) link in my site and also linking it to your website. Let me know sometime if you don’t want me to do this this.
Hi Alistair – Of course you can. Do you need me to send you a photo or anything? We have linked to your blog too, on our “We recommend” page. Yours is one of our favourites 🙂
You’re right, they look very easy to love 😉 Your photos are lovely too.
Thank you Cat 🙂
Hi Christine, i particularly love the way you arranged it in the post, like a big collage! The flowers and photos are so beautiful, i love them but will not thrive in our hot clime. You should participate in Donna’s meme, i think the next word will be much harder than Illumination. Thanks for your comment in mine.
Hi Andrea – I finally did take part in Donna’s meme – Illumination – took me a while, I found it quite a hard one. I think “Repose” might be a bit easier 🙂
Awesome blooms Christine! I like best the last image of the lily fraternizing with the nandina, very casual and great contrast.
Hi Linnie – I love the combination of the Lilies with the Nandina. I didn’t know it would work this well.
I love lilies too and always love when lily season starts. I am happy that is goes on all year round somewhere in the world. I find mine are not happy in any shade and always stretch for the sun.
Hi Donna – I’m finding that mine that are in the more shaded spots are craning towards the sun too.
Beautiful blooms, Christine. Doesn’t look like you get the red Lily beetle where you are!
Thanks Janet – so far no red Lily beetles – I hope they don’t appear 🙂
Gorgeous! However they are not hardy where I live, unfortunately.
Hi One – I’m not sure yet how hardy they are here, its my first season with them. We will see how they perform next year.
Christine, I love the Nandina mix.
Thanks Anthony, I love it too. It works well, I think.
They are just gorgeous. I love lilies and these pink ones are just so pretty.
Thanks Lona – I love them too 🙂
Oh WOW!! They are totally love-able! So beautiful and it helps when there is no fussing involved. Also LOVE your photographs – you really have a great eye for this!! Awesome xxx love the close ups!
Thanks Barbie! They really are pretty fuss-free (so far!)
