Autumn in Munich, Germany

Autumn in Munich; Herbst in München – Looking at my Autumn Post of yesterday motivated my Mom to send me photographs of Autumn in her city, München (Munich) in Germany. My Mom lives in one of the most beautiful cities, in an area called Herzogpark. It is a picturesque, quiet suburb of the City with beautiful tree lined streets, lovely old buildings and wonderful parks and spaces to explore.

Here are the photographs … (you can click to enlarge)

Beautiful, no?

München has a fantastic Botanical Garden (Botanischer Garten München-Nymphenburg) with a special garden dedicated to Rhododendrons. My Mom will be visiting the garden again during May when the Rhododendrons are in full bloom … Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see the photographs?

Love you Mami, thanks for sharing your lovely photographs with us 🙂

Dominated by large trees on a medium sized property, my garden is very shaded. With no “full sun” areas I have to plant shade and partial shade loving plants. I love shrubs and flowers including camellias and azaleas but Roses and Irises are my favourite and getting these to thrive is a challenge …

At the moment I am also enjoying the spring colours here, glad our long and icy cold winter is gone and forgotten at long last. Talking about beautiful places – The Niagara Falls are absolutely breathtaking! Fantastic photos!

I have always heard how beautiful Germany is, and these pictures of autumn are so nice. I would love to have you do another guest post of spring blooms!

I will do a guest post on our spring flowers here soon. I went to your blog and enjoyed all five of your garden tours, particularly the number five one 🙂

Hello Tante Uta, it is great to have you sharing our blog. Wonderful photos and I also love it when Germany is in full autumn. I know it is spring there now, but thank you so much for these picturesque pics. hugs to you xxxx

Danke, liebe Barbie! But I am happy it’s spring now – after a long and extremely cold winter with lots of snow. Will take some spring flower photos next week!

Weiterhin fröhliches Buddeln!

Yes, the change of the seasons with their different colours is something one misses in the tropics, we also lived there for a little while …

I haven’t been to Munich but this looks really lovely. the public spaces look fantastic! My favourite is the streets – all open, no 6 foot walls like we are used to here in SA! Lovely photos, thank you for sharing.

Yes, it is one of the wonderful things about Germany that you can walk around any time without having to be afraid. I am glad you liked the photos, thanks!

You had me confused for a minute there… it’s not Autumn there *now*. Those photos were taken *last* year. I thought I was awake enough, but maybe not…

Beautiful photos though! Would love to see current photos of the city too.

Also, not fair Christine to have other people supplying you with post material. 😉

Hi Alan – agreed, I want to see spring photos of München too! You are right of course, its not 100% fair, which means I need to go visit soon & take my own photos 🙂

You are right, Alan, it doesn’t seem fair, but as I am addicted to Christine’s blog I just HAD to send her these photos. Will take some ‘real time’ photos at Munich’s botanical gardens sometime next week.
Have just been to your blog (again) and was very impressed – also again! Beautiful garden and fantastic photos!
