I am staring out of my windows today, watching the rain pouring down. A peaceful and unhurried calm always comes over me when I watch the rain fall. It can be so gentle and nourishing, yet have a nasty streak by flooding and destroying! The world is experiencing devastating floods and I am on the otherside of the coin. I am very thankful.
We have been having alot of rain this winter and the farmers are happy! I am happy to know I don’t have to rush anywhere – so my heart goes out to all that have to travel in this weather – be safe!

My winter is the time to think about designing for the spring – grab a hot cup of tea and a good gardening magazine and a warm blanket…… need I say more!
Happy gardening xxxx

Great photos! We’ve had lots of rain this summer–record rain, in fact. 2013 has been the wettest year on record to date, for my area. Fortunately, I live on a hill, so no flooding here. But many of my neighbors have had flood damage and wet basements! But rain is welcome to me after last year’s drought. Your photos show the special joys of rain.
Your garden looks like it’s loving that rain! I must say, when I saw your first picture, I though it was a big fat green snake in the lower left corner. I’m assuming it is a hose or something, but it gave me quite the double-take when I saw it!
Barbie your winter looks like my spring and right now my summer although we are getting hot temps. Winter is a great time to renew our souls…looking forward to all those great designs and ideas.
Hi Donna – yes, I am studying via correspondence about Permaculture. So my designing will be more towards efficiency, money saving and using and mimicking nature. I am keen but have lots to learn. However, by doing this gardening blog I have learnt so so much. Thanks to all my gardening friends help too!
