Not often I’m lost for words but today I am. Both my parents are in hospital, on opposite sides of the world and I’m feeling helpless here in Africa. Nothing taking my mind off it, not even the Garden brings any joy today.
Dominated by large trees on a medium sized property, my garden is very shaded. With no “full sun” areas I have to plant shade and partial shade loving plants. I love shrubs and flowers including camellias and azaleas but Roses and Irises are my favourite and getting these to thrive is a challenge …
Christine,
I hope your parents are both doing better this week. I am so sorry for you having to bear it alone so far away. It hurts to not be able to DO something in these situations.
I had my own difficult days this past week, and can relate to the shock of not even the garden bringing any added comfort. We are so used to being encouraged by its beauty! It helped me to remember that any beauty in it is just a glimmer of the God who made it all. And He does carry me through because He is bigger than all of the mess, though it does not always feel nice and smooth. He is as real as the flowers around my house, and much more constant.
Thinking of you,
Julie

Oh, sweet Christine I’m sorry to hear of your distress. Prayers and love sent your way for peace during these difficult days.
Can we hope that you will have good, or better news of them both, soon? (I remember how shocked I was when my mother told me they were going to have 4 cataract operations)
You are in my prayers dear Christine. May you feel the love of your Father in Heaven round about you today.
Christine – My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your parents. Be strong in courage and faith.
