The spring sun is out and the gardener is happy on this, our ninth Garden Bloggers Harvest Day the 5th day of September 2012 in the southern hemisphere, and the gardeners of Two Gardens are celebrating the spring – finally. The days are getting longer and warmer and we can feel the season is changing. Barbie loves the bold yellow of the canola fields surrounding her village and the bright red of the little Bishop bird. Spring is here!!
Let’s see what can be harvested from Barbie’s Garden this month
I have not had much opportunity to plant, but what I do have is a wonderous assortment of salad greens. The local church has a Spring Market this friday and everyone is getting ready for it with local produce and baked breads and cakes! Gonna be fun! I cannot boast with my veggie patch yet, but let me show you what I can harvest so far ….

Spinach mustard is really very well testing. And you’re correct, nice yellow flowers are beautiful.
Barbara, best regards to you and to Gardens from Russia!
I can not wait to get lettuces out of the garden again! Yum! And I am so impressed with your lemon tree! Make that amazed!
Barbie, I have one thing to show and its not really ‘harvesty’, just a pretty picture 🙁
I have not been as diligent as you with planting but I will show my new seed stash.
Your salad looks delicious. And your chard looks so pretty. I think I have that variety as well as a green one. Thank you for hosting.
Your harvest, and that salad especially, looks positively delightful! We planted Mizuna once…and since then it has continued to replant itself! It’s a good thing Mizuna is so tasty 😉
Barbie I am always in awe of your harvest year round…a few days into spring ands you have a harvest…for me a few days into spring means the ground is still frozen…yummy salad! My tomatoes would go nicely with that salad.
Lovely to have so many salad leaves, it’s been too hot here for salad crops for a couple of months; they should begin to grow now it’s cooling down. Thanks for reminding me, I need to sow some Bok choi for autumn/winter. Christina
