It has been an eventful week in my garden – with my first Louisiana Iris bloom and with the warm sunny days we have had all week, the energy is there to get the garden looking spiffy! Out came the lawnmower and the big job to cut the knee-high grass! Oh boy! What a job.

As the sun sets on a productive day, I look out over my front garden and am happy! I will be able to see the new expanding plants, grasses, trees, flowers and veggies.
Now I need to plant all my seeds … my job is far from over, but I am smiling!

I know how you feel when the chores are finished. This whole year, I only cut the grass three times. It did not grow much at all but I suspect it will now that the weather has cooled.
I must say, the lawn cutting is not my favourite job 🙁
Before, the garden looked tired and you had energy. Now the garden looks refreshed and you are probably tired. Funny how that works!
You did a great job. It’s beautiful.
Oh thanks – Hoov! At least I’m getting some exercise in! 🙂
Barbie it is looking so wonderful…you have so much more growth on your plants but with our recent rain, I expect to see more grass growing and maybe some new blooms as we enter fall. love the grasses as they are starting to sport lots of foliage in your garden
I must say, those three cabbages in galvanized pales are quite stylish. Nice touch for the patio.
Thank you Mario – my hubby actually chose the decorative cabbage :-). I also love the look. An inexpensive addition to liven up a corner.
Your garden looks fabulous! Amazing how much a difference just cutting the grass makes, doesn’t it? But, besides the grass, all your plants are looking so healthy – and so lush already! That new growth on the roses looks fabulous, too. And I love all your container plants. So much to see there – you’ve done a great job!
Thanks Holly! You are right – when the lawn was cut, all looked clean. I have been very diligent and feeding my plants well. I am using organic fertilizers and Epsom Salts. I hope that my roses will be splendid this year!
A very pretty area of your garden. I’m looking forward to seeing how it matures over the spring and summer.
Great feeling, when you achieve what you want, happy gardening indeed. Christina
Wow, your garden is so tidy! Love the fresh look of spring! We’re seeing the scruffy look of autumn here. Enjoy the beauty!
Time to get a sheep, right? Then the mower can stay lazy all year long. 🙂
Hahaaa!! My neighbour has a few so maybe I can borrow his “mowers” for a day! 🙂
It all looks great Barbie!! After the rain this weekend that lawn will green up and look fabulous!
I’ll give it a boost with Blade Runner and that should sort the lawn out! 🙂
