Micro part of the family

Day 18

Micro had her first shower today! She seems to have enjoyed it! As the days go on, she is becoming more and more cute! She sleeps perched on our headboard at night and waits patiently until I open my eyes. Oh, she gets so excited to see I’m awake that she flaps her wings and demands foodies – poking me with her beek! She recognises the tin cup sounds as I mix her food and she comes flying into the kitchen and hops and jumps on the spoon. She sits on the table with us at lunchtime and on Hannes’ shoulders when we work in front of the computer. What a real sweetiepie!

Country living is the best! Being a true spirit of the earth, my garden is all about vegetables and fruit trees and herbs and chickens roaming free. I was keen to really start gardening when we moved to Philadelphia in 2005, but not your typical suburban-type garden – sterile and bug-free! I wanted an edible garden.

She is so sweet! She is sitting on the big diningroom table here with me while I work on my laptop. She picks up little crumbs and plays with them. Her cutely annoying trick is to fly and sit on the top of my head. Hmmm! Not my favourite! Hannes doesn’t mind.

I hope she can interact with the other birds, but still come home to us! Let’s see if that will work.

That is so cute!! She is gorgeous – I never thought a dove could be “cute”, but when I saw her on Thursday, i see she really is cute!!
