Today I am grateful for the kindness of other gardeners and the camaraderie we share. I’ve been through many phases in life and never in all my years have I experienced such generosity of spirit as I have from gardeners the world over. Offers to send seeds, willingness to share knowledge, giving of their time to advise and gifts of cuttings and surplus plants … I have not experienced such generosity in any other hobby or past time I’ve been involved with before. For all the wonderful Gardening Friends I’ve made in the last year, I am very grateful!
Photo: Tibouchina – I have three of these in my garden. At first I had them standing in a sunny place and they didn’t do very well. Since I’ve moved two of them to a shadier position the growth is lush and full and they look fabulous. The flowers are a vibrant purple but they don’t last very long. Not that it matters, the plants produce lots of buds and flower pretty much continuously in my garden. I love the plant and I love the name … Ti-bou-shina … rolls off the tongue!
