Wooly winter

Hi Chris, It was been a wet and cold week so far and in the evenings out come the warm woolies! It is really and truly winter and you will usually catch me with a blanket wrapped around my waist! I have been threatening to get wood for the fire for weeks now – but still no wood!

I have been reading up on all my The Gardener magazines because all I can do right now is plan my back garden. It is still too wet to work in it and we still need to complete the back garden wall for privacy. I have been going through all the garden design books you lent me. I have no idea how it will look but I have a few ideas I want to incorporate. Hopefully this week, I will be able to have a sketch of my back garden.

Hope you have a great week ahead. Xx

Country living is the best! Being a true spirit of the earth, my garden is all about vegetables and fruit trees and herbs and chickens roaming free. I was keen to really start gardening when we moved to Philadelphia in 2005, but not your typical suburban-type garden – sterile and bug-free! I wanted an edible garden.

Hi Carolyn – it is, especially when today’s weather is anything to go by – It was sunny like a spring day! 🙂

Wooley winter? Rain? It sounds like another planet. It’s hard for me to get out into the garden because of the heat. Somewhere between you and me there must be the perfect climate!
